A Compassionate Mess

The goal of practice is simply to become a compassionate mess.

I get caught in the trap of trying to “fix” myself. When I discovered this quote the other day, it really resonated with me.

When I feel like a mess poorly disguised as a human, I feel I should “work out” how to no longer feel or act like that.

When actually, focusing on kindness towards ourselves and others is the key, welcoming all of our weird little quirks, because those quirks make us the unique, wonderful humans that we are.

Denial of ourselves is not the direction we should be headed.
