I’ve often read that we humans are bad at multitasking, but today I actually experienced it. While writing in my journal, I thought of an idea for a blog post and I quickly turned to my computer to write this idea down.
Even though I spent literally 20 seconds away from my journal copying the idea into my computer, it took me several minutes to get back into the flow of writing afterwards.
Actively reducing task-switching is a worthwhile practice, if only to reduce the frustration we feel from the disruption of flow.
