Habit Stacking

In his great book, Atomic Habits. James Clear talks about the concept of Habit Stacking:

The idea is simple:

Layer a new habit on top of a previously existing habit.

For example, if you wanted to start taking a supplement each morning, you could decide to do it after you brush your teeth.

You brush your teeth each morning anyway, and adding an additional step to this process is far easier than trying to remember to start the new habit out of the blue.

Bonus tip: Make it so you have to literally move your supplement out of the way to get to your toothbrush, and you’ll be even more likely to complete the new habit.

This of course, doesn’t start or end at teeth brushing. You can apply it to almost any habit.
