Nothing Original

In Steal Like An Artist, Austin Kleon points out that “nothing is completely original”. When searching for inspiration, he puts ideas in two distinct piles:

  • Worth stealing
  • Not worth stealing

He doesn’t decide whether ideas are “good” or “bad”, but only if they’re worth stealing or not. I think this is a really interesting lens to look through, one I hadn’t yet considered.
